This week is starting off most excellent with a review from reader Melissa Slayton!
Martha Engber’s prose sings as she weaves a story of a different time and place. The fierce and empowered energy of Pino as she fights to protect her people is offset by a sense of place as a lush and lyrical backdrop. Martha Engber’s work has always shown a gift for depicting the development of young women and a dedication to research-based, historically and culturally aware prose; how refreshing to see a woman’s quest for victory transcended into an even higher quest for human connection beyond the boundaries of age, gender, status, and tribe.
Keep them coming, readers!
Which begs the question, do you leave reviews of your favorite books on Goodreads, Amazon or elsewhere?
That wasn’t a thing when I was growing up, but when I started getting books published and readers reviewed for me, I started giving back.
