I had the pleasure of attending a book talk here in CA where Jen Lang (left) spoke beautifully about her newest flash memoir, LANDED: A YOGI'S MEMOIR IN PIECES AND POSES, recently published by (Vine Leaves Press).
As a bonus, I also met Jacque Gorelick (right), whose memoir A MAP OF THE HEART: A MEMOIR OF LOVE, LOSS AND FINDING THE WAY HOME, will be published by VLP in 2026.
Jen talked openly about the book, a continuation of her first flash memoir, PLACES WE LEFT BEHIND: A MEMOIR-IN-MINIATURE, that tells the love story of how she and her French husband didn’t want to live apart, but couldn’t decide where to live happily together, either.
After living in the US for a number of years, Jen, her husband and their family decided to move back to Israel, where the couple had lived in the early days of their romance. The second book talks about the adjustment to being an immigrant in a country often in conflict with its neighbors, while also trying to find a balance between how she practices Judaism and how her husband does. Through it all, Jen relied on practicing and teaching yoga to ground her heart and soul.
Jen was interviewed by Simi Monheit, author of THE GOLDIE STANDARDS.
