Mary Donahue of WINTER LIGHT was 14 during the 1976 Winter Olympics in Montreal. Already too cool for school and generally opposed to sports because why sweat if you don’t have to, she still would have been fascinated by Romanian gymnast Nadia Comaneci winning a first-ever perfect 10 on the uneven bars.
I remember that performance, which employed tricks nobody had ever seen before. Anybody else see her?
And Bruce Jenner (now Caitlyn Jenner) broke his own time record in the decathlon.
And what are you watching during this Olympics, if anything?
Me: surfing, swimming, biking.
