I just started the developmental edit of SCATTERED LIGHT (published by Vine Leaves Press Nov. 2025), the Mary Donahue sequel to WINTER LIGHT . That means I’m working with the publisher’s editor to get the very last details right for all of you wonderful readers.
Scattered light is the phenomenon of particles getting in the way of sunlight, which scatters the light in all directions. The scientific idea is a metaphor for what happens with all of us; that we sometimes have so much going on in our lives and so many thoughts in our heads that we lose sight of what’s important to see.
Are any of you familiar with the phenomenon?
